OUR APIARY
THE SWEETNESS OF BEE-ING
Our small mountain apiary comprises 25 beehives. Tens of thousands of hard-working bees swarm out of a single hive every day to collect nectar for our natural blossom honey and beeswax. Our team of beekeepers is a bit smaller: Bernadette, who’s been fascinated by bees and beekeeping since her school days, Lukas and his father Willi. We are beekeepers out of passion and conviction and know that beekeeping involves a certain responsibility. Not only for these wonderful animals, but also for the preservation of the beautiful nature we live in. Our bees pollinate crops, whose yield we would not have without them.
We can only appreciate and protect what we know.
Did you know that bees are the third most important livestock after pigs and cattle? In order to preserve the bee population, we even have our own queen breeding. We will be happy to show you our apiary during your stay and tell you more. Who knows? We might even convince you to start keeping bees too! ;-)

Homemade mountain honey in pretty Anraitl jars is more than just a nice souvenir: Eating honey regularly will do wonders for your immune system. Bernadette also makes beautiful candles from beeswax.
